Alternative Forms of Spinal Therapy

Fernando Vega, Physical Therapist at Miami Orthopedics and Sports Institute, explains motion analysis is a tool, like a camera connected to a computer to film the patients doing a specific activity that they have problem with, analyze it, and break it down.

"It allows us to see the patient better and allows the patient to see themselves in action," he says. He also explains the anti-gravity treadmill, which is the equivalent of running in water: "It is a treadmill where the patient puts in these special shorts and they run in air. So, let's say a patient had a spinal injury and they have pain with impact, we can have them run in there with less impact."
