Recovery after Joint Injury in Baseball

Dr. Derek Papp, Sports Medicine Physician at Miami Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute, says it is important to take the time to fully recover before coming back to play baseball.

He explains the treatment of joint injuries is almost a generic kind of cookbook for it. "Basically, what you're doing is taking an appropriate amount of time of rest. It can be a week, it can be six weeks if you're having something else, and then gradually getting back into sport. The time depends on the muscle group injured," he points out.
