Fernando Vega, Physical Therapist at Miami Orthopedics and Sports Institute, says doctors typically see in runners overuse injuries: "It's either they're making gains too much too fast or they're not cross-training and they're not working on their core and working on other things."

He recommends slowing down and taking some rest in between runs or starting working on their core and strength.
