Types of Cancer Treatments

There are some cancer treatments that affect fertility: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy and targeted therapy, explains Dr. Victor Guardiola, Medical Oncologist with Miami Cancer Institute.

It’s important to discuss any treatment and its effects with the patient, and how it can affect his or her fertility, before treatment, advises Elina Melik-Levine, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at the same center.
