Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen or anti-inflammatories are generally the most common medications used to recover from injuries. If this medication doesn’t work, the physician can prescribe other types of drugs.

Dr. Michael Swartzon, Sports Medicine Physician at Miami Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute, affirms any type of medication should be prescribed by a doctor, because there are drugs that usually interact with organs, such as the heart, kidney and, even, with blood pressure, and they should be monitored.
